Title: Blown Film Extrusion Operator
Role Purpose: To support the business in achieving operational KPI’s and objectives.
Area: Extrusion
Reports To: Shift Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility to produce polythene film products to the required customer specification on extrusion production line(s).
- Maximisation of production output.
- Completion of order and blend changes.
- Carry out and accurately record quality control checks, taking remedial action where required.
- Working to work order instructions and job specification sheets, and accurately completing all production-related controlled documents, ensuring compliance to customer requirements and quality standards.
- Promptly notify Lead Operators and/or Shift Manager if the product is out of specification, or there are doubts around final/end use performance or product safety.
- Ensure raw material supplies and material feed are maintained.
- Removal and segregation of scrap product following the correct procedure for removal of excess raw materials.
- Ensure finished product packaging is completed to specification and sufficient to achieve customer expectations.
- Completion and compliance to all task cards/SOP’s and instructions relevant to operational area.
- Ensure a thorough accurate handover to next shift is completed.
- Maintenance of housekeeping, hygiene, and environmental standards.
- Subject to process experience, assists in direct training of other operators under the direction of Lead Operators and/or Team Supervisor.
- Participates in training courses and training activities where the company has identified the need.
- Completion of duties in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, making recommendations for improvement through Health & Safety meetings as appropriate.
- Completion of ad-hoc duties to meet the needs of the business subject to the appropriate training.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience (Desirable)
- Level 3 NVQ/SNVQ Blown Film Process.
- Three years proven experience in a plastics extrusion manufacturing environment (or similar).
- Shift working experience.
- Health, safety, hygiene, and environmental awareness training.
- RITIB FLT License.
