Job Vacancy: Lead Operator

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Team Supervisor, this role includes responsibility to cover the Supervisor’s duties when they are absent.
  • Responsible for assisting Operators in setting up machines and optimising the outputs.
  • Assist maintaining quality whilst running jobs.
  • Ensuring the 'clean as you go' policy is always adopted, and lead the way on shop floor Hygiene/BRCGS standards.
  • Follow all Health & Safety guidelines laid out by the company.
  • Complete all necessary training via company training manuals and the Task Card Matrix.
  • Share responsibility with the Supervisor regarding training and standard operating procedures.

Skills & Experience

The following qualifications, skills and experience are desirable:

  • Previous experience gained within an extrusion facility and/or packaging experience.
  • Basic Health & Safety awareness training.


This position is located at our main factory site at Stopgate Lane, Aintree, Liverpool, Merseyside, L9 6DX.

Working Hours

  • The hours of work are 42 hours per week, averaged over 8 weeks, working day and night shifts as per the shift pattern ('4-on and 4-off’) between Monday and Sunday.
  • Day shifts are from 8am to 8pm, and night shifts are from 8pm to 8am.

Salary & Prospects

  • The successful candidate can expect to receive a competitive salary based on their level of experience.
  • There is an attendance bonus currently in place that is worth up to 8 shifts of pay at the end of the year for 100% attendance.
  • Salaries can be paid weekly or monthly, depending on an employee's preference.
  • There will opportunities for progression within our organisation.
  • A paid holiday entitlement of 20 working days, plus 8 public/bank holidays, per year.
  • There is a contributory pension scheme which employees are auto enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
