Supporting frontline efforts to tackle COVID-19

Aintree Plastics are working hard to produce a number of items that are being used to support the frontline efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

These range from disposable apron films, to infection control bags, to medical waste bags, and everything else in between.

Disposable Apron Films

An important piece of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is seeing increased usage throughout the NHS and other sectors at the moment are disposable aprons. These are important for infection control and helping to slow the spread of COVID-19.

We produce the flat sheets of polythene film that these aprons are cut from, and we are currently working on large orders for millions of units of these to help with infection control for medical and other care staff throughout the UK.

Medical Bags

Other important products we are manufacturing at the moment include medical bags. These are strong bags that can be produced in a variety of sizes for various applications - from traditional hand-held medical waste bags, to larger bags with bespoke openings that can cover a variety of medical uses. We currently have orders for hundreds of thousands of units of these for use within the UK.

Hot-water-soluble plastic infection control bags

One of the interesting new products we’re currently working on is for the supply of hot-water-soluble-plastic infection control bags for the NHS, and we are making such bags quickly available in the UK.

These will allow for nurses, doctors, cleaners and all other types of medical and care staff to change their uniforms at work, bag up their used clothes into a strong and safe material, then put these straight into the washing machine when they get home.

By removing the need for the laundry to be taken out of the bag, the risk of contaminating others is greatly reduced, and it allows such clothing to be used multiple times after it has been washed.
