Woodlands Hospice Golf Day

We are delighted to have recently supported a charity golf day for Woodlands Hospice. The John Parrott 'Golf Classic' is a key event in the Woodlands Hospice fundraising calendar, and it helps to raise vital funds to support the important work that they do.

The event took place at West Derby Golf Club, and the day comprised of golfers playing 18 holes of golf using the Stableford scoring system in teams of four, with prizes being awarded for 'Nearest the Pin' and 'Straightest Drive'.

Following the golf, there was an evening presentation dinner hosted by Woodlands Hospice patron, and former professional snooker player & television personality, John Parrott MBE.

Awards were presented to the winning team and runners up, together with a live auction and some amazing raffle prizes.

The Aintree Plastics staff that attended the golf day had a great time, and it was a pleasure to continue our support for this registered charity and the work that they do, after taking part in their 'Bring a Pound to Work Day' initiative and making a substantial donation earlier this year to help with their running costs.

Thank you for sponsoring our 'beat the pro' hole in our annual golf day. Also thank you so much for your support on the day. I have had such good feedback and we raised an unbelievable £17,000 on the night - the level of support in the room is always overwhelming. These days could not be as successful as they are without the input and support of local business such as yourselves.

Next Event - The Greatest Ball

The next big event at Woodlands Hospice is a Gala Ball that is being hosted and organised by another of their patrons, Alison Perry OBE. This is usually a great night and very relaxed, and is another good way to support the hospice. About Woodlands Hospice

Woodlands Hospice is a registered charity, formed in 1996, that is dedicated to providing hospice care for the people of North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby. The day hospice was opened in 1996, the out-patient unit in 2005, and a fifteen bed in-patient unit in 2009.

The Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust was originally set up as a direct response to the needs of local people living with cancer. The experiences of General Practitioners, Macmillan nurses and hospital staff identified the need for a facility for the care and support of those with life-threatening illnesses in North Liverpool.
