Aintree Plastics is a Living Wage Employer

Aintree Plastics are delighted to announce that we have been accredited as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation.

This means that every member of staff working for Aintree Plastics will earn a real Living Wage. The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living. This is currently £10.90 in the UK, and it is calculated each year by the Living Wage Foundation.

We have amazing staff at Aintree Plastics, and every single person has played their part in contributing to the success of the business since it was established over 27 years ago. We are proud to be able to support our staff in return by making sure that everyone earns at least the real living wage.

"With news this month that inflation has risen to over 10% for the second time this year, our commitment to providing our workers with stability and security by paying a real living wage is more important than ever, which is why we have chosen to become an accredited Living Wage employer. This commitment applies to directly employed staff and also third party contracted staff. We are proud of to receive accreditation."
David Millar, Managing Director
Aintree Plastics

What is the real living wage?

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 11,500 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs - like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.

Over 300,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the Living Wage campaign and Aintree Plastics are proud to become a Living Wage accredited employer.

We join over a thousand business in the North West of England that pay the real living wage, and sit alongside big household names including Liverpool FC, Everton FC, Ikea, Nationwide and AstraZeneca.

Who are the Living Wage Foundation?

The Living Wage Foundation is the organisation at the heart of the independent movement of businesses and people that campaign for the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. They celebrate and recognise the leadership of responsible employers who choose to go further and pay a real Living Wage based on the cost of living, not just the government minimum.
