About this Role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join the Management Team at Aintree Plastics during an exciting time for our business, with an investment plan for the plant & machinery, site infrastructure and people.

The successful candidate will have a major influence and join a small Management Team consisting of the Managing Director, Sales Director, Works Director and Operation Manager, in driving the business forward.

With a turnover of circa £12m and 45 employees, Aintree Plastics has a small but flexible team. The successful candidate would not have any direct reports, but the Sales Office has a team of 3 which support the regular accounting administration and weekly payroll.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in a similar role, in a Manufacturing or Process Business, is essential.
  • Formal qualifications (such as CIMA or ACCA) are desirable but not essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, and intermediate/high level SQL skills would be an advantage.
  • Experience of budgeting, cash flow forecasts, management accounts, credit risk management (including highlighting risk of non-payment) and supporting commercial pricing decisions are all essential.
  • Aintree Plastics is an independent business, but part of the CorpAcq Group, so experience of group reporting would be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing an Accounts Receivable facility with weekly / monthly reconciliation and audits would be an advantage.

Location

This position is located at our main site at Stopgate Lane, Aintree, Liverpool, Merseyside, L9 6DX, though there may be some exceptional occasions when home working is allowed.

There is an open plan office with a professional but friendly atmosphere, free on-site parking, and free tea/coffee.

Working Hours

  • The normal hours of work are 42.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm, with a 30 minute unpaid break each day.

Salary & Benefits

  • The successful candidate can expect to receive a competitive salary based on their level of experience.
  • A paid holiday entitlement of 20 working days, plus 8 public/bank holidays, per year.
  • Financial assistance may be provided for training where the performance of the company will benefit from the employee’s development.
  • There is a contributory pension scheme which employees are auto enrolled into (subject to the conditions of the scheme).
  • Other benefits, such as health care insurance, are subject to the candidate and negotiation.
