Operation Clean Sweep

Aintree Plastics are keen to reaffirm our ongoing commitment to supporting industry initiatives aimed at reducing plastic waste in our environment.

We are therefore very enthusiastic to sign up to Operation Clean Sweep. Operation Clean Sweep is an international enterprise, led in the UK by the British Plastics Federation, with the intent of reducing plastic pellet, flake, and powder loss to the environment.

Aintree Plastics, a member company of the British Plastics Federation, are fully behind this endeavour and are very close to achieving zero pellet loss from our manufacturing sites.

We have managed this through various new procedures and investments, including:

  • Plant modifications, such as additional screening and filtration.
  • Implementation of a more robust recycling policy, which includes working with partner companies to recycle unusable contaminated raw material from spills.
  • Employee training to raise awareness.
  • Regular internal audits to maintain and improve standards.

We hope to demonstrate to our customers that at Aintree Plastics, through Operation Clean Sweep and our ISO 14001 accreditation, we understand our responsibility as a polythene manufacturer to reduce plastic pollution.

Over the past year, with lockdowns and limited foreign travel due to the pandemic, we have all come to fully appreciate our beautiful countryside, beaches, and areas of natural beauty. By working together and being more conscientious, we can help to improve our environment with the reduction of industrial and consumer littering.
