Aintree Plastics Supports Local Charity - Woodlands Hospice
Aintree Plastics is proud to offer our support to Woodlands Hospice. The registered charity is a specialist palliative care facility that supports local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
This is an amazing charity that provides much needed care and support to patients, their families, carers and their close friends. Woodlands Hospice's aim is to improve the quality of life for their patients and families by honouring people's right to dignity and respect, and helping them to remain as independent and active as possible.
The hospice is self-funded and needs to raise £4,000 a day to ensure they can offer their facility and services free of charge. Aintree Plastics were keen to show our support with a donation, as well as supporting their other fundraising events such as "Bring a Pound to Work Day."
Coupled with the above monetary contributions, Aintree Plastics will also be donating polythene bags to be used by the hospice for collecting donations of good quality pre-loved clothes, shoes, and other items, to be sold in their shops located in Kirkby, Old Swan, Norris Green, Orrell Park, and in the Cains Brewery Village near Liverpool City Centre.
Woodlands Hospice is situated on the Aintree University Hospital campus, and Aintree Plastics are hoping to offer further ongoing support by participating and running many future fundraising events.
"We looked for an organisation in the local area that we could support, and when we met with Jonathan Burgess and his colleagues at the Woodlands Hospice, we were inspired and immediately wanted to get involved. The families and friends of colleagues at Aintree Plastics have benefitted from the facilities at the Woodlands Hospice so we are all pleased to offer our support."

About Woodlands Hospice
Woodlands Hospice is a registered charity, formed in 1996, that is dedicated to providing hospice care for the people of North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby. The day hospice was opened in 1996, the out-patient unit in 2005, and a fifteen bed in-patient unit in 2009.
The Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust was originally set up as a direct response to the needs of local people living with cancer. The experiences of General Practitioners, Macmillan nurses and hospital staff identified the need for a facility for the care and support of those with life-threatening illnesses in North Liverpool.
